While vacationing in Delaware this past week we searched for the Burtons
Island letterbox and discovered the hiding spot empty. Apparently a critter
of some sort also thought this a great hiding spot and had dug and scraped
the hollow out pretty thoroughly. No sign of box pieces in the surrounding
area .
It was so wonderful and full of osprey, willetts, a bird we still can't
identify and scuttling crabs that none of us minded returning box-less!
